I am a qualified psychotherapist, registered with UKCP and experienced in working with people to overcome various emotional difficulties and mental health issues. Weekly sessions are confidential and non-judgmental. I use a range of therapeutic models, offering thoughtful support with warmth, creativity and insight. Whether you're experiencing relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, loss of direction, feeling isolated, navigating a transition or searching for meaning in your life, a course of individual psychotherapy can be a life-changing experience. During each session I will offer you the chance to talk about your experiences and help you to foster and facilitate a genuine interest in yourself. During therapy you can learn how to cope with your feelings, set appropriate boundaries and experience a growing resilience
I also work with couples who are experiencing something that threatens to destroy their relationship. Often, but not always, working through the difficulties that have been created together can bring a deepening union and a new level of intimacy not previously experienced. Couples therapy can give you the space and safety to explore eachothers’ feelings so that you can honour your relationship, whether or not you decide to stay together or not. If you would like to give it a try, I offer an initial session at £30 with a view to deciding whether this is something, as a couple, you would like to pursue.
In addition to working in private practice for a number of years, I have worked with mental health patients within the NHS, as a volunteer counsellor with people facing homelessness and drug and alcohol issues and by GP referral at the Nightingale Surgery in Brislington.
