Bristol Child psychology Practice is a group of highly qualified Clinical Psychologists who specialise in working with children and teenagers and their families. Dr Nina Meikle, Dr Lisa Hughes, Dr Tracey Henderson and Dr Sarah Elgie have extensive experience of working with young people with mental health difficulties and work within the NHS in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Teams (CAMHS). Bristol Child Psychology Practice was set up to offer a private service to young people and their families wishing to seek help and support outside of the NHS.
We understand that coming to see a Clinical Psychologist can be daunting and takes courage but therapists such as Bristol Child Psychology Practice are highly skilled at working alongside children and families. Confidentiality, respect and sensitivity is at the heart of all appointments.
We will first spend time talking with you and your child to understand and make sense of the difficulties you would like help with. You will then be offered a series of appointments to help your child or teenager learn to overcome their difficulties. Therapies can include cognitive behaviour therapy, family based therapy, attachment work and / or parenting work. Clinical Psychologists use the NICE (National Institute of and Clinical Excellence) to inform their clinical practice.
